Cinemax renews 'Strike Back'

Cinemax's foray into scripted drama, "Strike Back," has passed its latest test, with the pay cabler greenlighting a second season of 10 episodes for the series. Andy Harries of Left Bank will return to exec produce the series, alongside Huw Kennair-Jones of Sky, which is airing the series in the U.K. Cinemax/HBO and Sky are co-producing together for the first time. Set in a sex-infused world of counterterrorism, "Strike Back" wraps its first season Oct. 21. It drew 1.1 million viewers (including same-night encores) when it premiered Aug. 12.
