Full trailer for Human Centipede 2
Cover your eyes! A new trailer has been posted online for director Tom Six's The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence. We'd met the film's new medically fascinated psycho Martin in a previous trailer and as you'll have already guessed from the title his plans are a little bigger.Thing is, we're not convinced this is really going to grab people. If you liked the first film you're already sold on Part 2, if you didn't this is unlikely to pull you into the series.Besides, until the BBFC grants it a licence in the UK, British horror fans will need to add the price of an EasyJet flight to the cost of a cinema ticket.Personally, we can't wait for the trailer for The Human Centipede Part 8: Eat The World. Of course by then it will be difficult to type and tell you about it, as everyone - including us - will be connected by the gastric system!Watch Movies For Free Online

Academy awards: Academy Works Out Crowd For Moneyball But Could It Be Best Picture Worthy?
Go having a touch of suspicion. But Saturday evening’s “official” Academy member screening of Moneyball appeared to attract probably the most enthusiasm since last May’s packed Night time In Paris.A minimum of knowing by a number of unrequested reactions e-mailed in my experience by Academy people attending. Obviously it assisted the filmcame in an exceedingly respectable No. 2 in the box office a few days ago with more than $20 million. One Acad member explained it had been “as crowded because it will get.” While another authored, “I just visited the Academy screening of Moneyball, also it was packed! Virtually filled besides a couple of random open seats.” The make-from the Acad crowd was referred to as “older than normal, and lots of new faces” by another member attending as “definitely over the age of I'd have expected. But there is great reaction through the film and large applause in the finish for Kaira and Jonah.” Another opined that “the lighter moments performed well, which you may already know is definitely telling. The couple of jokes were taken care of immediately well. There is warm applause in the finish. But personally I gauge baseball movies through the emotional swelling I recieve during my throat at least one time. I didn’t have that here.” I'd state that’s since this is a clear, crisp and awesome andsavvy film much more about thebusiness of baseball than other things. This individual also wondered whether The new sony will move it intothe Golden Globes comedy category despite the fact that it's most likely perceived more like a drama. “If it’s a comedy, which means Pitt is really a lock for the best Comedy actor,” they stated. I posed that question to among the film’sconsultants(who known as the Academyscreening a “home run”) andit hadn’t been talked about.”I can’t imagine it.” On the other hand, this past year another The new sony flick with Pitt’s wife,The Tourist, was shoehorned into comedy and also got three key nominations. Who knows the twist and turns of those things, particularly this at the start of the growing season. On the other hand, producer Scott Rudin, that has two other films likely competing within the drama groups (The Lady Using The Dragon Tattoo andExtremely Noisy And Extremely Close) may want to try to spread the wealth Globes-smart. I cantell you Moneyball isaLOT more amusing than TheTourist, and that i observed a number of laughs after i first viewed it in a La-area theater Sunday evening for again. Despite the fact that these Academy tests aren’t a scientific barometer of the film’seventual Oscar chances, they may be helpful, specifically in gauging Academyvoter curiosity about even seeinga contender. It’s rare to determine the Samuel Goldwyn theater in Beverly Hillsides completely full in the officialscreenings. But Iimagine people are depriving for somethingthought to become “awards worthy” only at that early point Especially since reviews happen to be so great, by having an astounding 94% fresh score at Rotten Tomato plants along with a nearly perfect 97% among top experts. It doesn’t get a lot better than that.Moneyball, nevertheless, you define it, is clearly a Best Picture contender at this time, and Pitt and JonahHill would appear to become top challengers for acting nods. Searching in the upcomingAcademy screening agenda for October there isn’t a great deal of Best Picture fodder being proven. Except perhapsThe Ides Of March from Kaira Pitt’s and also the Academy’s friend George Clooney in the Sunday matinee on October ninth.Other October official tests with any potential whatsoever include 50/50 next Saturday mid-day and Pedro Almodovar’s language hopeful Your Skin My Home Is on October 8. And then within the month some more compact “maybes” like Margin Call, Martha Marcy May Marlene, Constantly, and Anonymous. Other filmsbeing given to the Academy membership areDream House (a horror film not really being tested ahead of time for experts), Margaret (postponed 5 years and lastly getting launched), Gem Jam Twenty, Kevin Cruz’s self-distributed Red-colored Condition, Dirty Girl, horror remake The One Thing, Real Steel (which does boast a surprisinglyterrific kid performance from newcomer Dakota Goyo), Vital’s musical remake of Footloose, nearly straight-to-DVD Trespass, the Steve Martin-Jack Black-Owen Wilson watching birds comedy The Large Year, Oranges and Sunshine, The Ladies around the sixth Floor, and also the lengthy-gestating The Rum Diary with The Actor-brad Pitt. It’s unlikely some of individuals will elicit exactly the same wanna-see factor using the Academy as Moneyball did a few days ago. The large question now's whether this baseball movie will go where couple of others have: in to the Best Picture selection.

His pal George Lucas might still be tinkering away at Star Wars (sorry to bring that up, we just heard millions of Star Wars fans cry out 'Nooooooo!') but you won't catch Steven Spielberg changing Jurassic Park any time soon. Aretha Franklin Talks Odds On Halle Berry Biopic Casting, Obama Second Term
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Aretha Franklin introduced an uncharacteristically mellow vibe for the nation's capital Monday evening, in her own element on stage and looking out royally relaxed as she partook in this city's niche -- slightly off stage politicking. our editor recommendsPresident Obamas Marthas Vineyard Vacation Place Setup available (Exclusive)Rhianna, Bono and Usher to Headline Celebration of Bill Clinton Smaller sized in proportions while not stature after what reviews thought was (and Franklin demands wasn't) a scare with pancreatic cancer, the entire of Soul found Washington to find the Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz Founder's Award. Herbie Hancock, Jennifer Hudson, Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright were among the combination of D.C. and Hollywood A-listers available to cover homage to Franklin also to the Institute, now within the 25th year. Though public performances since her December surgery are actually rare, Franklin gamely supported a medley of her own hits (completed on Monday having a group that incorporated Hudson, Chaka Kahn, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Diane Reeves) getting an even rendition of "Moody's Mood for Love." Despite the fact that the traditional made an appearance to produce the diva's much much softer side, Franklin was characteristically feisty offstage in speaking concerning the guy whom she -- and her legendary hat -- aided inaugurate this past year. "It absolutely was tough when he showed up,Inch she told The Hollywood Reporterof the bleak economic landscape facing Leader Obama. "He's doing everything they can do and," Franklin added for emphasis, "that can be done only at that era.Inch And Aretha might have heard a lot better than most. She's remained lately while using Leader, getting excited everybody else getting a short set before thePresident's Labor Day speech inside the Motor City, a previous address generally seen because the kick-about the fall political season. "He rocked everybody else!Inch beamed the woman who knows a couple of reasons for whipping a crowd into craze. "He was terrific!" (Franklin was slated to find out Obama again on Wednesday, this time around around with an Oblong Appointment alongside runners up in the Monk Institute's Worldwide Jazz Piano Competition). But because the Filled with Soul had only kudos for your President's performance, a couple of of her fellow artists were less amped by Obama's generally low-key, no-more-drama approach to the nation's political battles. "They are fully aware the sport, he experienced it," mentioned pioneering beat boxer Doug E. Fresh. "Show me everything you got! It's at all like me just as one MC --sometimes the mic fail. However dislike there and tell everyone else 'Aww, the mic don't work'. Everyone else don't care." Longtime Tonight Show Bandleader and Monk Institute backer Kevin Eubanks, whose telegenic laugh belies a lively policy wonk, saw Obama as only the latest victim from the bigger challenge with American culture. "We personify [national problems] within your body of just one person," he lamented. "Making us not responsible. Whether it is not his fault, then its our fault." Still, Eubanks predicted that Obama would weather the storm and possibly even earn themselves a monument concerning the National Mall, similar to the late Martin Luther King, Junior. did a few days ago. (Aretha herself happen to be scheduled to complete within the monument's dedication, but Hurricane Irene had other ideas). Undaunted, the entire of Soul reaches good spirits Monday and, according to affiliate marketers, seems to experience a new lease on existence. She'll duet with Tony Bennett within the Metropolitan Opera House later this month, and offered up they is close to getting her passion project -- an Aretha biopic -- started. "We're hammering the final particulars," Franklin mentioned in the project, which made mind lines taken when the non-singing Halle Berry sidestepped an offer to battle the role. That didn't sit well with Franklin, who carped to talk show host Wendy Williams they "would love the one that will have me being up to date.In . But Monday evening in D.C., it absolutely was Aretha who exuded all the confidence. "Halle Berry," she mentioned. "In my opinion Halle Berry's gonna get it.In . Related Subjects Obama Aretha Franklin

Bombs Away: Creature Opens to $220 Per Screen, 6 People Per Showing
It’s no Worst Movie EVER!, but it’s close: Over the weekend the indie horror pic Creature, opening in a surprising 1,500 locations, made box office history, all right… just not the kind filmmakers were hoping for. Despite attempts to create what they described as a “new template” for indie film distribution, the folks behind Creature — including Sid Sheinberg, former president of Universal Pictures — instead earned a place among the worst wide-release openings of all time. Sheinberg and producer son Jonathan Sheinberg produced the self-financed creature feature, directed by Fred M. Andrews, about a group of 20-somethings who fall victim to a fabled swamp monster in the Louisiana bayou. Over at Rotten Tomatoes, Creature holds an 11 percent rating (including a positive review from The L.A. Times, which calls it “delightfully dopey”), which makes it better-reviewed than at least one studio-released competitor from last weekend. But Creature seemed an unlikely candidate for wide release distribution from the start. An indie horror flick with no stars, not backed by a studio (i.e. a true indie, not an Insidious or a Paranormal Activity), it had built relatively little national buzz before popping up on opening weekend listings late last week. Even granted exhibition contracts with theater chains like AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Pacific, and Carmike, was Creature ever going to become a wide release hit? The film’s marketing campaign tapped into its low budget and B-movie trappings as nostalgic throwbacks to the era of drive-in movies and cheap exploitation flicks, so its target demo was somewhat limited to begin with. (Another draw: copious hints at Creature’s boobs-n-blood formula, including shots of lead/True Blood actor Mehcad Brooks shirtless.) Promo screenings were held in top markets to build grassroots word of mouth in addition to “significant TV ad buys on SyFy, G4, and E!,” according to the film’s rep, who added in a statement, “Sid and Jon Sheinberg have done what the big studios do, but on a comparatively micro-budget.” Upon release, however, Creature only took in $331,000 from 1,507 theaters across the country, averaging $220 per screen and fewer than six people per showing, according to Box Office Mojo. It landed at number five among the worst wide-release openings of all time (counting 600+ theaters and greater as wide releases), behind Proud American ($96,076), The Passion Recut ($223,789), Transylmania ($263,941), and The Virginity Hit ($301,885). Chalk the failed experiment, perhaps, to the elder Sheinberg’s past successes; while at Universal Pictures, Sid Sheinberg released the game-changing Jaws and in the process birthed the blockbuster by forgoing small-scale roll-outs in favor of national release. Creature seemed to similarly attempt to launch a wide-scale release with but without sufficient awareness efforts among a proportionate audience, and as a result the film arrived without enough of a trumpet blast and lacking enough of a draw (great reviews, buzz) to make the gamble work. The Sheinbergs’ production company The Bubble Factory, meanwhile, continues a streak of poorly received films dating back to Flipper (1996), The Pest (1997), and McHale’s Navy (1997). Bubble Distribution could not be reached for comment.

Fox Searchlight Picks Up Shame; NC-17 Next?
As presumed, word from the first day of the Toronto International Film Festival has Shame finding a distribution deal. But not quite as presumed, Steve McQueen’s acclaimed drama is at Fox Searchlight — which will almost certainly face an NC-17 rating for the movie’s frank sexuality and graphic nudity. As an offshoot of a MPAA studio signatory, Searchlight does not have the option of releasing Shame without a rating. And director McQueen — a final-cut man with a background in video art — has made it clear he won’t trim a frame of his story about a deeply troubled sex addict (Michael Fassbender) and his sister (Carey Mulligan) in New York City. So the writing seems to be on the wall for Searchlight — but the awards potential is written larger, mostly by critics like our own Stephanie Zacharek, who reviewed Shame last weekend from Venice. “The bare story of Shame, when you lay it out, doesn’t seem like much,” she wrote. “But the actors bring everything to it; their suffering is both magnetic and painful to watch, almost as if it were a variation — or an aberration — of basic sexual attraction. Mulligan, with her bleached-blond crop of hair, resembles one of the cool-customer chanteuses of the ’50s, like Helen Merrill but with a cherub’s face. She’s terrific here, and restrained in a way that suggests an actorly generosity unusual for someone so young: Her scenes with Fassbender don’t so much say ‘Look at me’ as ‘Look at him.’” Expect more this weekend from Toronto and next month as Shame makes its way to the New York Film Festival. You’ll be hearing about this one for a while. Full Fox Searchlight release below… ================== TORONTO, Ontario, Canada September 9, 2011 - Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents Nancy Utley and Stephen Gilula announced today that the company has acquired U. S. rights to the intimate and provocative drama SHAME. The film is directed by Steve McQueen, written by McQueen and Abi Morgan and stars Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. He has crafted an extraordinary film that probes some of the deepest and darkest issues ever portrayed on screen with amazingly gifted performances by Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan,” said Gilula and Utley. “Fox Searchlight contacted us immediately after the screening in Telluride to tell us how much they loved the film. Their approach to marketing and distributing the film this year was incredibly detailed and impressive. We are excited to be working with them on a film that is sparking debate and a strong emotional reaction from audiences,” said Canning and Sherman. “This is a brave statement and an important move by Fox Searchlight. I am very happy they came on board to release Shame in the U.S. It’s great to be working with a team that is so passionate about cinema,” said McQueen. New 'Human Centipede 2' Trailer Crawls Online
Moviefone reported on Friday about the imminent release of 'The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)' on Oct. 7 and we even offered up a teaser-trailer about the film, the second part of director Tom Six's trilogy that will culminate in 'The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence),' due next year or in 2013. We now have an inkling of what the film will be about, as well as a very clever Australian trailer that just went online. As you'll recall, 'The Human Centipede' was called "idiotic, exploitative and sickening," "torture porn with an artistic gloss," "a grotesque and sickening novelty" and "totally vile" by most movie critics and, though it stirred up a lot of controversy, not that many people actually saw the film: It grossed $181,467 in the U.S. and $252,207 internationally, faring slightly better on DVD with $2 million in sales. Nevertheless, there's buzz on the second film, whose plot line goes something like this: A man, sexually aroused by a DVD of the first film, decides to create a "human centipede" of his own; he abducts 12 victims whom he stitches together for his own sexual delight. Without going into detail (which you can read more about at iMDB), the sexual acts in the film also involve sandpaper and barbed wire. The Marquis de Sade would be proud. Anyhow. check out the trailer after the jump; it's a very clever piece of marketing that shows nothing of the film but rather the reactions of viewers watching the movie. Six is definitely a showman; having the film banned in the U.K. certainly will help his promotion. Enjoy. Tip o' the hat to CinemaBlend X-Men: First Class Online Free
Clothes minded: Fashion flirts with film
Anita Ekberg's little black dress in 'La Dolce Vita' sparked fashion trend. The worlds of fashion and film have been winking at each other more and more in the past few years. Every designer from Prada to Kate Spade to Gareth Pugh has debuted an artsy short film to sell a collection, handbag or limited-edition perfume. Last spring, Miu Miu kicked off a series of shorts directed by women with a moody piece by Hollywood film heiress Zoe Cassavetes. But it's the venerable house of Gucci -- turning a mature yet spirited 90 this year -- that has stepped up as the premiere stumper for celluloid. At the upcoming Venice Film Festival, Gucci will fete females with a new award honoring Women in Cinema. The finalists are refreshingly diverse, with up and coming American actress Jessica Chastain ("The Tree of Life") vying against Italian screenwriter Federica Pontremoli ("The White Space") -- it's a gracious nod to the less glamorous behind-the-scenes business of film to include a producer and costume designer among nominees. Gucci also supports documentaries by offering a finishing fund for works in progress with the Tribeca Film Institute. But Gucci's major dedication to film -- restoration and preservation -- shows that the design house is truly acting its age. In the past five years, Gucci has donated more than $1.7 million to Martin Scorsese's non-profit passion project the Film Foundation. Its most recent overhauls include a digital facelift for Luchino Visconti's 1963 "The Leopard" and Federico Fellini's 1960 "La Dolce Vita." Both movies feature standout costumes, but it's Anita Ekberg's famous black dress from the fountain scene of Fellini's romp that launched a slew of copycats. In fact, the courtship of fashion and film is much like the marriage of two gorgeous superstars. Designers fawn over lush films, which in turn, showcase stunning clothes. Gucci designer Frida Giannini, who based her last men's collection on the chic '70s look of "The Way We Were," isn't the only fashion maven to name-check film as inspiration. Marc Jacobs has referenced Bernardo Bertolucci as an influence and the Mulleavy sisters, behind the avant-garde Rodarte label, based one of their runway collections on obscure Japanese horror films. One film that Gucci definitely won't be touting is the much-talked-about biopic of Patrizia Reggiani that Ridley Scott has been threatening to make since 2007. It's been bandied about that Angelina Jolie could play the femme fatale, who ordered the killing of her ex-husband, fashion titan Maurizio Gucci.Venice Film Festival: Fashion & CinemaFashion flirts with film | I fall to pieces | Hipster hot spots Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
